Miami New Times profiles Michael Gran, known as Typoe, examining why he chose to remain in Miami rather than relocate to established art hubs like New York or Los Angeles.

"I'd travel a lot no matter where I'd be living. I have to be everywhere because art is so international."

After establishing himself in Wynwood's street art scene, he co-founded Primary Projects gallery. He now plans to develop a gallery in Little Haiti while operating an artist residency program.

"I'm fully invested in Miami and doing everything I can to help this renaissance that's been going on for the last decade."

On Miami's future: "I'm friends with a lot of developers, and I know what's coming with buildings and restaurants and hotels. Miami is just starting... It hasn't even started yet."

"In any way I can, I try to help it grow. I own a gallery and show the art I like. We run an artist residency bringing artists from other cities so people can be inspired."

"We're Miami. We're gonna be more Miami."
