Related Group, Wynwood, Miami, FL · 2019

A commission for Related Group and East End Capital's new development in the heart of Wynwood. The site features a massive porte cochere, the covered architectural entryway where people arrive and gather. This was the first time Typoe felt he was turning a mural into something closer to sculpture, not physically leaving the wall but interacting with the architectural space around it. The shapes respond to the structure rather than simply sitting on it, creating something that feels dimensional, distinctly Miami, and built as one piece with the building itself.
